I love the Japanese maples in the background. I might have to get this one
That Cubone is incredible!
The joy I feel now with my beloved Cubone finally getting an AR ![]()
They look fantastic. I think my favourite is the Meowth! ![]()

I love the Ceruldge here as well. The best art for it by far.
Is it too much to hope that these show up in the 2025 Trick or Trade packs? It’s hard to imagine getting something that cool, but they are fall/Halloween themed and there’s a rumor that Trick or Trade will have exclusive arts this year.
Given that the whole lineup could be mistaken for being Halloween-themed, I’d say there’s a decent chance.
Wow that Gengar is like a perfect card for me. Hopefully it isn’t too expensive.. it’s a dream for my Clefairy doll collection thank you so much for the tag
on IG they said confirmed paid!
It’s pokecolor though… I would take anything they say is “confirmed paid” with a pinch (handful) of salt
Status symbol acquisition is the MO for BGS 10 black labels, whether the paid price shock is believable or not
- Average PSA 10 solds are currently ~$15k USD
- ~50% PSA 10 rate is below expectations for a modern Simplified Chinese card
That’s a fair point about being skeptical. Regardless of whether the payment is truly ‘confirmed,’ the fact that a card like this is attracting this much attention is what’s really interesting to me. As someone who has been collecting for a while and is lucky enough to own a copy, it’s incredible to see this level of enthusiasm for the card. The public view of this card is definitely increasing, which is exciting for anyone who appreciates it.
I think unfortunately the enthusiasm and attention is focused more on the price tag its commanding than the card itself.
You’re not wrong that for many, the first thing they see is the price tag, not the artwork or the history. But here’s the thing: those two elements are rarely separate. The price tag is so high because the card is incredibly rare, has a great story, and is so sought after. The high value is a direct reflection of its desirability, not the other way around.
Look at other cards . I own some that are extremely rare, like the Umbreon V Elite Four in Traditional Chinese with only 198 copies, but they’re not even worth four figures. On the other hand, a card like the Gray Hat Pikachu has over 50,000 copies in PSA 10, yet it’s worth more than $1,000. It’s a great example that there’s no universal rule.
It’s actually a good thing that different collectors put different values on a card’s rarity, art, or history. There’s no right or wrong way to collect, and that diversity of perspective is what makes the hobby so interesting.
Just wait a few more years until the proxy or custom card people get a bit better with texture and buy one for ten bucks
I haven’t bought any proxy or custom cards, but this and many of the pocket exclusives are tempting me
What’s baffling is not the price. It is the price combined with the fact that the card has two printlines.
