Ah that’s mainly understandable. I’m sure Gary has his opinion, I was just interested in why a family would not want someone to express their freedom.
Also, aren’t you Aussie? Societal views on tattoos have increased positively in the last two decades. It’s almost completely normal now

About the dyed hair…when your younger the family doesn’t like it but when you get older (and grayer) it’s acceptable?
Yeah Aussie, but have a strong catholic background. My grandmother is the one with extreme views, sort of don’t want to disappoint her of all people.
she’s also the one against boys dying fruity coloured hair; as she sees it as a reflection of something a “gay” person would do.
My parents, and me sort of don’t care, we accept gays, tat’s whatever, just the older generation would think differently of me if I did it all, and I don’t want to stir up those tensions.

In all seriousness I have absolutely nothing against tattoos or piercings at all. I have neither, I am open to the former but not the latter. My girlfriend has both and they don’t bother me at all.
Tunnels and plugs are an absolute nope.
