Thanks for the insight and I guess my reasoning was what would be more likely. A Neo Destiny 1st Edition that sells for $10,000 now tripling to $30,000 in 10 years or a sealed box of Unbroken Bonds tripling from $100 to $300? Historically it seems the second example but who knows with the crazy jump in WOTC sealed the last few months even. Good to soak up all the knowledge and maybe I’ll just lurk for a while I’m not much for investing in cards really just a collector but definitely helpful information here.

neo destiny for 10k is so last week…an auction just ended at 12.4k pshhhhhhh

See this fallacy all the time in the stock market. Quality over quantity. People all the time say “hey why buy Amazon stock at $1800 when I can buy this much worse company for $1 and it has a much better chance of rising then Amazon stock does!” No it doesn’t.

Not really the example I was using as I said investing in the right modern set historically has shown very fast growth such as sets with a rare Charizard. If you could identify a trend in newer stocks that has a faster growth than Amazon wouldn’t it make more sense to invest in them? In both cases from an investment standpoint it’s just a question of which has faster growth not which is better quality. Maybe some WOTC will triple in value in 10 years and Pokemon will have printed so much modern that it won’t be worth what 80/90’s sports cards are. Could happen. It’s clear right now WOTC is going through massive growth.
