I donât think you are actually making a rational argument.
There has been a lot of healthy discussion about this perceived problem.
You adding sarcastic passive aggressive tones did not help one bit, at all. If you want to discuss actual reasons why others should re-consider their opinion on who can enter a giveaway, then please list them like an adult. We are all here to help each other.
Churlocker, That was truly magnificent! brought a tear to my eye. Never have I heard someone speak of the Pokemon Collecting hobby with such passion!
I now feel privileged, that the administration of this Forum have opened up this forum for other collectors like myself. You have my gratitude, thank you!
Sorry. Next time I will use the same technique of arguing as everyone else so that every one knows how mature I am. Whatâs wrong with having an aggressive form of arguing? Most of the time if you just list your opinion in a straightforwards manner people with an opposing idea will just skim right over it without really considering the details.
I just think everyone is overthinking this process. There is just no way you will ever be able to determine who is more warranted in winning a giveaway and who is just trying to scam the system before the gift has been given.
I realize you donât see it Sam but from the outside looking into the above conversation you donât show up well. Certainly nobody appeared âwhinnyâ before you posted.
Based on all your previous contributions I know this is uncharacteristic.
Youâre right. I donât see it. The scenario where a user decides to give away a decent amount of merchandise to any one that can view this site and another user doesnât think it should be seen by lurkers and potential scammers and asks mods to consider moving it. The mod determines itâs acceptable the way it is but a long drawn out post is still created essentially complaining about a consequence where reading minds would be necessary to alleviate the issue. That is my interpretation but I guess my interpretation can not always be contained by the majority. Oh well.
your interpretation could have been conveyed less arrogantly, all these posts are opinions and even if you think your opinion is the correct one, you shouldnt treat other peoples opinions like trash
Putting the word respectful in front of something doesnât actually make it respectful just like candy coating a response doesnât actually change the meaning. I tend to offer my opinion unsolicited and if I did offende anyone, I do sincerely apologize as it was not my true intent.
I speaking of my responses being viewed as disrespectful because they arenât fruity enough or too critical since I donât know where other peoples responses lay within their own true opinion
right, well you can still get your opinion heard in a more friendly way, this is a group full of friends and weâd all like to see it treated that way
A true friend is honest and blunt. I didnât directly insult anyone. I insulted the concern of this matter by calling it silly and implied that it came off as whining as well as stating it outright.
Since I donât like to get into discussions like this (quite simply put I donât care most of the time). But I figured Iâd share this time.
I donât think the âOfficialâ Giveaways will be a success in bringing new members to the forums, what will most likely happen is people who lurked will join up once and then only post when a giveaway is happening.
I also donât think it will have a negative effect on our forum at all. If @thorgene is gracious enough to do a giveaway and the admins approve it then I am all for that. We are lucky to have members here that want to do that. People who are seen to only be here to get in on giveaways over a long period are going to be moved on.
@fourthstartcg is clearly passionate about UPCCC and Pokemon collecting in general, people may think he is being precious and too serious and thatâs fine. But I think itâs a dick move to try and bring him down. Anybody who cares about UPCCC enough to have that concern is ok with me.
Considering all that, and even though I donât think the giveaways are going to be a âsuccessâ for their intent. If even 1 or 2 people sign up for the giveaways and then proceed to become active and positive members of UPCCC then I am happy.
