Personally I’d put VS as #1, but I agree with you on the order for the rest. Didn’t think I’d find someone with basically the same order I had except for 1.
Web is very high because despite being a reprint series, it actually brought back cards that I didn’t expect. For example, Unikarp or Masaki Gengar … And also because the card template is appealing to the human eye …
PCG - cosmos, peak art/promos, second best card layout/aesthetic, delta species, gold stars, best exes
PT - cosmos, best card aesthetic, best shinies, less stock art than DP
ADV - cosmos, peak art/aesthetic, great set concepts/promos, but subpar exes
SV - better card layout than previous two gens, best special art era so far
DP - cosmos, best card aesthetic, but LV.Xs are a downgrade from exes, too much stock sugimori art in sets
SWSH - second best special art era, but second worst card layout
Vs/e - first great era of art, crystals, but yellow borders
XY-BREAK/CP - special arts, average holo, good art scattered throughout, but with the rest of XY problems
SM - (carried heavily by the last year) better special arts than XY, but worst card layout/SRs
HGSS - cosmos, 3rd best card layout card layout thanks to the borders, some ok shinies, legends are interesting, art diminished by some of the direction and too goofy looking often, especially the primes
Neo - better art than original era, but yellow borders and still limited art
XY - basically just a continuation of BW with downgraded EXs/SRs, but better holo
BW - EXs are ugly, shinies, but they’re all 5ban, bad holo, lots of stock art, but some ok art throughout
Original - subpar art lacking diversity, yellow borders
I look at the card list in a set. I use card arts, card style (ex. e series card layout is very unique but not my favorite style), rarities from that set (Shinings, LEGENDS, Gold Stars, etc.), and there is a nostalgia factor of what sets I grew up with. Generally, its the feeling I get when I scan through a set.
