Questions Regarding the e Logo on e-Era Cards

Can anyone who’s familiar with e-era cards help me confirm if:

  1. No card is printed with Japanese dot code but international back or vice versa
  2. The e logo below is only printed on Japanese cards, and only on 001/P to 028/P, 039/P to 047/P and 002/J:

Thanks!

Regarding number 2:

It’s also used on trophy 2002 cards:

As well as the unreleased Japanese Space World 2001 Sample cards:

And unreleased English E3 Expo 2002 Sample cards:

As for number 1, I’m not entirely sure. All known Sample cards have Japanese backs, and most also use the Japanese dot codes a.f.a.i.k. The last picture with the English E3 Expo 2002 Sample Dratini shows an English back next to it however, which could mean it has an English back itself as well. And it would surprise me if it already has an English dot code. But since it’s unreleased and this is the only known picture of it, this is mostly just speculation. :person_shrugging:

Thanks for the comprehensive answer!

I came up with these questions when thinking about a random topic: what are the different e logos we can find on an e-reader card?

After some research, I was able to find 5 different e logos:

image
e logo found printed on e-Readers, without stars or circles - these are found on Japanese non-Pokémon-TCG cards.

image
Circled e logos - these are found on English cards not related to Pokémon.

image
e+ logo - these are found on Japanese cards which can only be read by Card e Reader +, including Japanese Pokémon battle-e.

image
e logo with a star - these are featured on Pokémon TCG and English Pokémon battle-e.

e logo which resembles e-era expansion marks - these are mostly found on Japanese P promos.

The first 3 interestingly are only featured in one locale but not the other (raw e and e+ are always Japanese, and circled e are always English), so it makes me wonder if there are clear rules to separate the remaining two.

From the answer it looks like if we only count in released cards, e logo which resembles e-era expansion marks will be Japanese cards only, while e logo with a star will have its dot code locale match its language or back (Japanese back VS all others for English since English battle-e shares the same logo).

For released cards, your analysis indeed seems correct, a.f.a.i.k.

Regarding:

Technically, the Pokémon Web and Pokémon VS sets are also e-Reader cards with additional logos.
