QotD: You get to make any attack an HM that relates to the plot requirements of a Pokemon game, what attack do you choose?

Helpful Considerations: Thundershock to power old machinery? Metronome to unlock a timed pattern lock? Trick room to inverse a puzzle?

Endless potential.

Dig could be extended to making tunnels that you can walk through and do stuff similar to the Sinnoh Underground.

Curse used by Ghost types or some Ghost type or Psychic type move could be used to walk through solid objects.

Barrier could be used to build stairs and bridges.

Crush Claw could be used to climb trees.

Ember: to melt ice blocks or burn small bushes
Water gun: to make lava solid
Spark: to break machineries or power useful ones
Minimize: to become small and enter inside things or interact with Pokemon better
Rain Dance / Sunny Day / sandstorm: to modify weather in the overworld and trigger mini-events

As the melting concrete and steel theme is quite active i’d make an acid spray HM to get through the doors of bad guy mansions and gyms, no more searching for key cards or switches in trash cans
