QotD: Which type should a new eeveelution in the next year of the eevee have?

I can’t say for sure, but to me it points to a possible reason as to why we get these insane evolutions/mega-evolution designs sometimes. They need to come up with something that is far away from what other people have designed online.

this is such a good question.

I feel like the a flying one could be really elegant and work well for the eevee body shape. Sort of pegasus like. Pure white, a fluffy mane as thick as flareon and looks like a cloud. I think it would be a smash hit.

Ghost. Spookeon! Also would work well. Wispy tale and ears like a will o’ wisp. It would probably be competitively very viable.

Steel type. I call him steveon. A bit of a call back to steven stone, who was also a steel type trainer. but maybe thats a cursed name. Anyhow I like steveon. I don’t know how you’d even make it look. But it would have to be powerful as a mono steel type. I like the idea personally. But a troublesome design might stop it happening. I still find it interesting that in gen 2 espeon wasn’t instead chosen to be a steel type to go with umbreon since dark and steel type were introduced together in gen 2.

sorry fan artists, I’m taking out a collective hit on all of you. It will take a lot of money. I’ll just sell 3 of my 1000 bulk fossil kabutos to pay for it though, so watch out.

I said about my aveion previously. This description for it’s design seems nice. Ok nintendo this design with the competitive concept I suggest perfect flying revolution :wing:

Once destined to evolve into Umbreon, this Eevee’s transformation was corrupted mid-evolution by a forbidden surge of dark energy. Its body twisted, its mind fractured, and its hunger became unnatural. Rejected by the night it sought to embrace, it now stalks the shadows, preying on Umbreon to sustain its unstable form. Legends say its presence causes nearby Umbreon to flee in terror, sensing a predator born from their own evolutionary path.

It would be so on brand for them to do a 2nd Dark type and a 2nd Fairy type after 10 years of fan speculation for the next type. I think that would amuse me.

A dragon type or ghost type would be cool.
Maybe ground if they incorporated bones into the design like cubone/ marowak.

If gen 10 doesn’t get a new Eeveelution, I don’t think we will for a long time. Unless there is a new type created.
Gen 1, 2, 4, 6 got Eevees. They had a nice run of every other generation, until they missed it with Sword and Shield. So gen 10 could get that back on track. Or maybe they are going for every 4th generation now. Wishful thinking

Another transferring mishap. Eevee and porygon were traded while holding metal coat and you now have a

[Ghost-type eeveelution] came into contact with [item] as it evolved, leading to its ultimate demise. It is known to lure Eevees to the location where [item] is found, so that they too can become [Ghost-type eeveelutions].

I’ve heard this before and would love to know which fan art was closest

Still this feels weird to me. It is Pokémon´s copyright to begin with, so if you create a Pokémon then I don´t see how Pokémon adopting that design (with changes) would be infringement.

Its not though. Completely new made “pokemon” like new Eevee evos don’t fall under that.
And pokemon and Nintendo would rather cut off their hands and feet and give us terrible designs then to get into a royalty agreement with a fan made mega pokemon, new Eevee evolution or new pokemon in general.
That’s why impo pokemon designs for gens get worse and worse and worse.

Sad reality if true. I have to say though that I actually think that the designs have been improving since the depths of Gen 5 (Sawk, Throh, Garbodor, Vaniluxe ect.).

Its more involved then that simple statement. But they are a massive company with a huge legal team and they could if they wanted to work out royalties, licensing etc with designs made outside if their NDA in house artists.

I think a steel type axeon would be a cool one, also for the fan art and complex design reasons mentioned above it would have a good opportinity to create something unique (and silly looking) that hasn’t been done yet
