The Question of the Day is a way to facilitate community discussion to help members ponder the unanswered questions of the world that are somehow relating to the hobby. Questions are many times open ended and up to interpretation. Feel free to post your thoughts in as much or as little detail as you’d like.
Helpful Considerations may or may not help some people focus their answer, these are blurred to not bother those who have their own ideas.
Why do they learn from discs? Not like you are carrying around a dvd player to watch a training video. And what happens when that goes obsolete? Will they use mp3s?
Is Silph Co. still in business? If so, are they the Valve of the pokemon world? Because I’ve been waiting forever for Porygon 3.
which pokemon were suicune, entei and raikou created from?
Where DID Giovanni go? The remnants of team rocket in gen 2 never got their answer. I want to know what he did and where he went! postgame HG SS was a tease.
Have the real life animals that exist in the Pokemon universe, besides humans, driven to extinction? The fact that earlier in the series, we keep seeing references to real life animals and also their presence in the anime. But as the generations went on, they appear less and less and also almost never in the latest gens, with all of the fauna being Pokemon.
Pikachu is a “mouse Pokemon” but do modern people even know what a mouse is?
How the heck can a pokemon have two different kinds of baby, I.e. snorlax has a baby snorlax unless it holds that incense which gives you a munchlax
How big is the pokemon world and why is travel so difficult for the people in it, no one in kanto knew about the johto pokemon for like, centuries? Yet they are right next to each other

Why Tajiri isn’t more public facing and how involved he truly is vs his original creation?
Why Pokemon can’t do a full open world game with full Pokedex and all lore in one game? Isn’t the tech there? People play 500 hour games / spend that time on existing games like Go / Unite.
The true rank and order of Pokemon. Who is more powerful? Who maintains control and order? In a world all Pokemon exist, is it chaos or is their a hierarchy?
Why does Creatures think Pokemon has been so successful? What is their formula? How do they balance the many aspects of the universe to make Pokemon so appealing to such a wide audience? I’m interested in their point of view here.
-Do the scientists who recieve your fossils revive the pokemon, or do they just clone them?
-Were humans living alongside prehistoric pokemon at some point?
Some TCG lore stuff:
-Dragon Frontiers. What is on the floating island? Were we supposed to get a final set and D/P/P cut it short?
-How many of the mons in Delta Species sets were “natural” and how many were caused by the tower? There’s a lot of speculation that Holon Phantoms feature mons affected by the human impact from Mirage Forest/Legend Maker (based on old marketint material), but how about Dragon Frontiers?
This is really corny, but I like to believe Giovanni became some kind of Poke-conservationist. He uses a pokemon implied to be somewhat threatened like Kanghaskhan (or based on real-world species that are threatened, like Rhyhorn).
It’s been a while since I played Gen 1 and 2, but I don’t think it’s out of the question he not only had a change of heart when it came to crime, but also when it came to how he treated Pokemon. especially the ones he’s shown to use repeatedly. Gotta be some fondness there, no?
