I’m hoping I can pick up some more vintage cards again for a somewhat realistic price to fill the remaining gaps in my WOTC binder sets. I got a couple this year and they doubled or tripled in price within weeks after purchase. Doesn’t seem sustainable, but who knows. I might even pick up the odd modern card because some cards/sets seem relatively ‘quiet’ or at the very least they haven’t gone up nearly as much as some other cards have. I might even sell off some other cards next year, just going to take my time with it all for now.

Magic lands, dark city vibes, and arita. Almost entirely and only that.

Ah, the good ol days of eBay. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Raichu and Zangoose, of course. /s

EDIT: But to give a serious answer:
After all incoming packages have arrived, I’m back on track again with my Seviper TCG collection (100% complete) and Pikachu TCG collection (99%+ complete, only missing the illusive missing 7). So while I will of course keep up with their new releases as top priority simultaneously, I will in December 2026 and 2027 focus on my other collection goals I’m behind on: English full art Supporter/CHR cards and Yu-Gi-Oh rarities.

And of course, I’m always on the lookout for my top wanted items, like the earlier mentioned 7 Pikachu (or realistically 2, since the others are unaffordable); the final sealed Moltres variant, as well as a graded Italian, German, ‘Australian’; and Japanese Moltres; and just random non-TCG Seviper stuff, like the missing Metal Collection figure colors, missing two Kraks colors, etc.

Greetz,

Well thanks to the leaked 2027 McDonald’s set I know I’ll be collecting at least one more Slowpoke in all languages. Other than that, I’ll plan to continue picking up new releases, IRs, cosmos holos, and other miscellaneous things that I like

Yeah, things are not easy for us vintage collectors. High-grade vintage has skyrocketed, but raw unlimited cards have risen a lot as well. Prices for some set chases like Sabrina’s Gengar have increased over 100% since the beginning of the year, it’s pure madness. I also don’t think it’s sustainable and I think we’ll gonna see a big correction eventually, though I don’t know if we’re ever going back to 2025 prices. I like to complete sets, but my plan B is to at least collect most of a set as possible.

For 2027, I’ll keep chasing my goals of completing Base Set 2, Jungle and Fossil, plus a few WOTC promos I’ve been wanting to get (especially the E3 stamp Pikachu). I also just got back into Yu-gi-oh, so I’ll probably get some cards for my YGO binder too. Fortunately YGO is generally much cheaper to collect than Pokémon, so it won’t be a problem for my budget (I think)!

Unlimited Legend era cards. I got side tracked and barely made a dent this year, but will prioritize that more in 2027.

If the market goes up → Money
If the market goes down → Pokemon cards

The same thing as last year. The horde can never have too many Maractuses

Hopefully a refurbished Randall Century or two, or three. I get pain in the lightning-shaped scar on my forehead every time one sells and I didn’t buy it. Early-mid 90’s solid state amps with a pesky combination of uniqueness and rarity. I’ll be wrestling with Dimebag fans for every one of them.

Will slowly chip away at my vintage wish list, unless raw prices get even more unreasonable (Dark Espeon starting to look unlikely). Also curious about gen 10.

I’ve been collecting cash since 2025 in the hope that everyone else will switch to collecting cash by 2027. It’ll be nice to want to spend it again.
