I think BW looks amazing, I’d say we peaked with this 3d-sprite artstyle. I started a new White2 run recently I was really impressed by the amount of details I didn’t notice when I first played them: sun glare, the water movement, the intricate route design, leaves moving around, seasons. Looks great.
Since switching to 3D in Gen 6, the games just haven’t felt the same. Game Freak have a 2D mentality, which is fine and preferred… but seeing them try to make 3D games just feels like they’re pushing a square peg into a round hole.
The Pokeopia skyline is really gorgeous, great choice! Out of curiosity, what’s your favorite colosseum? So many them look great, though I’d personally have to go with Sunset due to its aesthetics and the BGM.
