They are there to buy at 80%, not sell at market.

Right now sitting on pokemon makes more money than churning and burning.

I live in southern Italy and I miss having an IRL community. Something like trading cards in stores or battling on VG.
Oh, and I can’t keep up with all the releases either. Modern expansions have made it almost impossible to complete a set without spending a fortune.

Probably controversial—but adults, not just scalpers, buying cards for themselves at big box stores bothers me. Kids need a space to find cards and adults shouldn’t limit that supply. Adults have so many outlets that kids don’t have readily access to for buying cards: card shows, online stores, knowing good LGS stores in their respective area, etc.

Big box stores are for entry level trainers imo.

Conversation regarding the hobby has been dreadful lightly. Its not about the love ofnthe hobby its more about how much my cards have grown in value today

I know its an essential part of the hobby, but enough is enough i guess

People genuinely thinking that scarlet violet era sets will be worth mega money down the road. They will be worth more but having 50 ETB’s is such an odd investment for the majority of the sets. I can’t imagine we’ll be seeing a $300+ pack of these down the line.

Articles saying pokemon cards have gone up by 3000% without any links to the data to back it up.

Basically anyone who buys the maximum allowed on a pokemon centre drop for selling later. It amazes me when I see whinging hobby “Celebs” on instagram who got error 17’d immediately followed by a “omg thank you random user for giving me your spare”.

It’s no wonder stock runs out when everyone buys a “spare”. That’s just scalp/trade fodder.
