The third one shifts around once in a long while, as there was a time Mimikyu would have been third place for a couple years, but the first two have been my favorite two since a kid and likely always will be.
As mentioned numerous times before, as a kid I was fascinated by snakes and they were my favorite animals, and although I also like other snake Pokémon like Ekans, Arbok, Serperior, Sandaconda, etc., Seviper’s design is on a whole other level, and it’s been my favorite ever since I first saw its reveal.
Ditto has always been my second favorite. It’s a cute pink blob, and the ability to change into other Pokémon is very unique and cool. As a kid I also thought it would be cool to have a Ditto with photographic memory, and I’d travel around the Pokémon world not to capture each Pokémon, but to let my Ditto see them, so it could transfer into any Pokémon at any time.
And Haunter is mostly among my favorite due to its amazing joking behavior in the anime. I also like both Haunter and Gastly more than Gengar, even though Gengar is among the top favorite Pokémon in general in the community.
Bottom 3 in order: Simisear, Galarian Mr. Mime, Pawmo
Let me start by saying I don’t hate any of these Pokémon, at all. It’s just that I don’t really like them much either.
None of the six gen 5 monkeys are very popular to begin with, and although this Simipour artwork is nightmare inducing, I don’t hate its design nearly as much as Simisear. Simisear’s body shape and overall design is just ugly..
I’m not much of a fan of Mr. Rime either, but at least that one is semi-decent. The original Mr. Mime will also never be in my top 100 favorite Pokémon, but I also can’t say it’s in my bottom 10 either. I also liked it in the anime, where it was Ash’s mom’s helper around the house. Galarian Mr. Mime on the other hand is a huge step backwards from the original Mr. Mime..
Although I had Binacle as third bottom at first, it and Barbaracle kinda been growing on me over the years. In the past they would immediately be in my bottom 3, but nowadays, they’re slightly more up making place for other worse Pokémon. One of which is Pawmo. Looking at the Pokémon loose, it’s actually pretty cute and not a bad design at all, but with Pawmi before it and Pawmot after it, it just feel so unnecessary.. That is primarily the reason why I dislike it so much.. (Below the entire evo line in a row for reference.. They could all three have been the exact same Pokémon with slightly different hair styles.. )
As expected when I suggested this QotD, it was actually pretty hard coming up with the bottom three, even though I could quite easily make a top 10 favorites. It’s not something I think about often or discuss, hence also why I suggested this question.
And as mentioned in the spoiler on the main question, it’s interesting to discuss favorite and least favorite Pokémon in the same thread.
I rip up any deoxys cards I own in my collection, if there’s a non rayquaza card I want but if a deoxys cards is in it’s area I will not buy it (It will be considered “contamined”), I’ve genuinely cut off friends for hating rayquaza AND saying their favorite pokemon is deoxys at the same time (granted they were all dirtbags too). I block people on social media who are deoxys fans also.
In short: My love for rayquaza knows no bounds and my hatred for Deoxys extends more than you could ever have imagined.
There is nothing I like about deoxys. He’s a disgusting waste of space that never should have been invented by the pokemon company. All of his forms are dangerous and must be exterminated immediately.
My absolute favorite is Mismagius, there is no debating that. However past that there are so many I love that I wouldn’t know how to rank them precisely. I would likely have to place Maractus as my second and I’m not sure past that.
There aren’t many Pokemon I really dislike, off the top of my head I’d have to pick out Gimmighoul, like half of the Ultra Beasts, Munkidori. Probably a few more I could throw into the bucket but I’ll leave it at that.
How do you feel about the Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND card? Do you include neither part in your collection because of the Deoxys, or only the top part mostly showing Rayquaza?
How do you feel about the Destiny Deoxys movie, considering Rayquaza had a pretty major role in it and was pretty cool. Although unfortunately Deoxys had of course the biggest role in it. Do you fast forward the movie any time it shows Deoxys without Rayquaza?
I include both for the very simple reason that rayquaza is still in the card itself, even if deoxys is making and unintended apperance. Since they both make a apperance, they cancel out
Yes, I always fast foward it any time it shows deoxys without rayquaza (also the movie isn’t canon, rayquaza wouldn’t ever get beat like that)
