Today’s Question:
QotD: Feature request time, what additional feature should Pokemon cards have?

Helpful Considerations: A new mechanic? Makes the game more fun? An running guide of total screentime the Pokemon has been seen? Augmented reality capabilities?

Flavor text that isn’t just a copy pasta from videogame pokedex entries would be nice. Flavor text was, for me, the spice mélange of Magic. Before I quit at least.

Do more with the card backs since players always sleeve their cards anyways… Would be cool to use that extra real estate in some creative way for more art or experimentation with things like augmented reality, QR codes to interactive content, etc.

Would absolutely love this, but I doubt even TPC(i) themselves know what cards they’ve released decades ago at this point.

And glow-in-the-dark and more lenticular cards both sound like great suggestions!
I would also like to see more Energies like the HGSS/LP era ones:

Greetz,
Quuador

Instant cash conversion with global ATM compatibility. Stuff the card into the machine, equivalent cash amount comes out. Maybe a chip as well, basically like a kid debit card with a fixed amount on it, and a little transmitter that calibrates to fluctuations in value. :atm_sign:

Cards with limited serial numbering that come from booster packs (not PC or tournaments). Each card would be unique.

@rabby250 close but not. Thats a pokemon go code from a promo card. I refer to some special cards from boosters numbered like 001/500….500/500.

Please update the English back at least so the Poke Ball isn’t opening upside down anymore :sob::sob::sob:

Also would love more horizontal cards. Imagine IRs/SIRs in landscape instead of portrait!

I hadn’t considered this before clicking on the thread, but you’re completely right - 100x the answer is better energy cards. It’s untapped potential to an almost unbelievable level.

In every single Magic set they put out basic land masterpieces like

or or

Meanwhile, (your one set example and some gold colour changes aside), this is the most Pokémon have been able to muster in 30 years -

Imagine how much versatility there is for amazing art works to be created for energy cards. You could have location based artworks like a Lake of Rage themed water energy card.. You could have collage based artworks ala Pikachu V-Union as the background of the energy card. You could have artworks that focus on the attacks of Pokémon like a close up of a Thunderbolt or Razor Leaf attack for electric and grass respectively.

Damn, made myself disappointed now
