PSA Slab under LED lighting

Hey all. So I have a quick question regarding examining and displaying PSA graded cards in a room with 60 watt LED lighting.

Ever since I discovered a few flaws on a couple of my cards to grade and even some already graded PSA cards, I have been examining all my PSA graded cards under this lighting to check for any potential flaws and documenting them. However, this got me thinking that perhaps continually examining the same card under this bright light (trying to determine if a scratch is on card or case) could potentially further damage the card itself and cause fading etc. I figure the graders at PSA use lighting potentially even brighter to inspect cards for flaws, but if continued exposure to this bright lighting could damage the card I figure it wouldn’t be worth risking.

In your experience, would continued examining/displaying cards under 60 watt LED lighting cause any damage or fading?

Fading doesn’t happen in the matter of minutes, it will take weeks or even months in direct sunlight to notice any difference. So you should be fine examining your cards.

Ah, I figured as much but ya can never be too careful when considering your collection. Thanks for the response!

Very true, better safe than sorry.
