PSA Review Process

So I’m contemplating sending in about 30 PSA 8.5/9s I’ve graded over the last 3 years that I feel got graded too harshly. As most of these are high value cards, if even a few got upgraded it would be well worth the cost of the whole submission. I’ve opted for review over cracking the cases. My questions are.

  1. Do I stand the chance of cards coming back lower grades or do they only upgrade during the review process?

  2. Do they take cards out of the slabs for review or only if they change the grade?

1/ yess the cards could come back lower grade

2/ cards will only be reslabbed if the grade is getting changed.

I think if you put a minimum grade for the cards you’re reviewing it won’t get downgraded.

It’s most unlikely you get a lower grade as you say they’re strong 8.5-9s, but still put in a minimum grade just in case.

They actually review the cards in the case, so the chances of upgrading to a 10 are slim but out of 30 cards I think you should do alright. It’s obviously less risky than cracking them and risk damaging the cards. Good luck to you.

No, you cant put minimum grades down for the review process.

Wwhy are you and @chok saying to put minimum grades. You cant when it comes to the review process. Only option is to crack and resend with a minimum grade desired.

Yup no minimum grades. I think it is probably unlikely that seeing the current grade they would go lower though unless something extreme was missed.

Ahh, I got it mixed up with cross-grading. Well, it would definitely suck it got reviewed to a lower grade. Well OP since you know those cards you are planning to review are harshly graded you have one less thing to worry about. Best of luck and do update us on how it goes
