PSA error grading McDonalds Pikachu?

I was checking some local markets and found this:

This Pikachu is from MCD16 and not from MCD15:

There’s always these 2015 or 2016 confusion mistakes with people selling these cards but I wasn’t expecting PSA to fall for this too…

Doesnt PSA just follow the form submission of what the user inputs half the time?

Also as a follow up the cards artwork is not the same for both years, but with confetti holofoil for both. The only discerning difference other than the artwork to me is the year at the bottom which looks correct, so it seems normal, no?

The artworks of the McDonald’s Collections of 2015 and 2016 are the same for Pikachu and the card above is indeed the 2016 version (with wrong 2015 label), as mentioned by @shinyzin :

You are correct in your first statement however, that PSA most of the time simply follows the form submission, and therefore has quite a few mistakes in labels. :person_shrugging:

Ah my fault. I think I second guessed myself with the black star print from 2017 artwork wise.
