PSA 9 vs BGS 9

Hi all.

Based on your experiences for the graded market for 9s, how do BGS 9s hold up to PSA 9s value-wise?

Am I right to say that on average PSA 9 is in better condition than BGS 9 and commands a higher premium?

In my experience, modern PSA 9s are hard to move. Modern BGS 9.5 is also hard to move. PSA 10s sell fast.

Maybe vintage is different. I imagine BGS 9 would be quite the rock.

I think it all comes down to subgrades, on average BGS 9 value is lower compared to PSA.
For vintage especially surface. If the subgrade for surface is below 9, it most often is not a PSA 9.
If the surface is above 9, it might be?

Yes.

In my experience:

PSA 10 < BGS 10
PSA 9 = BGS 9.5
PSA 8 = BGS 9
PSA 7 = BGS 8
And so forth…

Both in terms of grade and price.

BGS 9.5 sell for considerabley more than PSA 9s, especially vintage, same for BGS 9s and PSA 8s
