PSA 10 Sabrina's Gengar Holo Unlimited Valuation

I recently graded this card making it a pop 16. I tried finding some sales info on this card and haven’t been able to find any at all, maybe it just hasn’t sold publicly in a while. I haven’t really tried to sell it as I’m unsure what I want to do with it yet but I have a few buyers asking me for a price. Would anyone have any info on private sales of this card? What would be a fair valuation for this card?

Thank you

Can’t help you much with pricing because you’re right… looks like the last public sale was in 2019 for $150 lol. Congrats though! That’s an insane card to get in a 10. The 1st edition sells for around $4000-$6000 but the pop on the Unlimited is much lower, tough to tell.

A 1st ed sold for 4.123k. I use 50% of what a 1st ed is worth. So roughly 2k.

Has to be more than that because of the low pop

I have quite a bit of demand for it I’m just not sure what to say when they ask how much lol. Thought maybe some other people would have some insight

Ask them what they will pay if you have plenty of people interested, that will tell you the market price

2.5k imo

Ye 2.5k seems solid! If you get an offer above that is solid!

I would price it right around the 1st edition price, it’s a card that set completionists will get hung up on the same way they get hung up on Neo Unlimited holos, and you see how much some of the rarer Neo holos go for. They end up rivaling or exceeding their 1st edition partners.

I have one too and would definitely not sell below 1st Ed price, too hard to grade.

I’d say put it up for auction and let the buyers fight over it

I would love to have PWCC just auction it off. I don’t always feel comfortable shipping higher end items, especially with the other horror stories of packages gone missing. But I live in Canada, and unfortunately PWCC doesn’t even offer insured labels outside of the US, so I would have to risk shipping it myself. Figured I could try and get a value for it and maybe sell within Canada, or when borders open up just take a trip down to Oregon and drop off some stuff to PWCC myself lol

If you have multiple people interested, and they asking you to throw out the first number rather than offer up a number themselves (as a seller I would never throw out a number for an item like this), they definitely have a ballpark idea of what it’s worth. In that case an auction really is in your best interest.

Personally, I expect to pay higher premiums on Japanese unlimited set cards when the card is desirable and there is a big discrepancy in 1st/unl pop numbers. Not too bothered it’s not the first print - I like that it’s the scarcer card. I’m not saying this is the dominant position, just that if I had this card, I’d probably list it above the 1st price aware there are people out there who have the same mindset.

Don’t bid against yourself. Have them throw out the first offer.

Exactly. As a seller of a niche or rare item, never bid against yourself.
