Why is the PSA 10 price so jumpy?
probably just the ebb and flow of availability.
I’ll list some cards 25% more than other of the same cards listed. They’ll sit for 2 months, then suddenly mine sells for the higher price once all the other copies are gone. Then two months later, there’re 5 copies again all undercutting each other.
that’s my initial guess.
I think PSA 10 copies of sets like Fossil and Jungle are interesting because we still have a churning of new product being opened, but not often. So while it may seem rare for half a year and the prices climbs, it’s not unheard of for several copies to flood the market as product is opened.
You won’t see this with PSA 10 1st base holos though, for example, because the amount of new product being opened is really low.
I think over the next 5 or so years we will see a significant stabilization of price for most all PSA 9 and 10 WOTC era holos that will not look so different that what 1st edition base has done for a few years now in terms of steady incremental growth as opposed to huge ups and downs like with the Fossil Raichu.
It’s not uncommon for prices to fluctuate that much on lower end cards. Most of the lower prices were at auction too. As teraz said, if you’re patient you can earn a premium, but if you just want to flip it quick you’re probably looking at less than $200.
$300 actually seems a little much considering the 9s have been steadily selling for around $30 for several months. Then again, a magician like cullers could list this for $500 and actually sell it.
That was absolutely brilliant. 10/10
Haha well done;)
