I probably looked a thousand times at this picture. And I keep wondering about these ungraded pale beta playtest cards of Gengar and Voltorb.

Did they show up after this picture? Were they eventually send to CGC? I couldn’t find any labels with an indication like “pale” or “faded” on CGC. So I guess they aren’t graded yet or are they graded but not distinguished and listed in the CGC pop report?

(For context: as far as I know these pictures are from a card shop in Japan which had or have these for sale)

Lol you’re way overthinking it. The flipped over Gengar and Voltorb just meant they had been sold. The card shop in Akihabara did not display the actual prototype cards in the front but rather printed photocopies. If you were interested in a card you could arrange a day to come by and they’d show said card to you.
