Probstein123 Auctions 50 White Border Jungle Test Prints

@lyleberr Idk why someone would cut it up in the first place. I know with investors money means more than the history and the actual cards themselves. Whoever did it isn’t very bright. I’d assume the sheet would fetch more at auction then blindfolding themselves and cutting it up and selling individually

@thsigma probably recently I’d assume as well. Seeing as CGC would grade a snotty tissue if it was signed by Arita, I’d believe whoever submitted them thought they’d fetch a high premium for whatever reason

Standard sheet is 11x11, so 121 cards. The double printed sheet (which is my value comparison since i vaguely remember some of the numbers and see it as similarly unique desirable cards) sold as a sheet for approximately $30-40k, and now has cards selling for $2k each. Retrospect makes it seem like it was a good return even if sold for half that and dont even sell them all. I can see why someone with a unique sheet, who may not have interest in the history of the sheet, would be interested in parting them out hoping for a big return with a bigger buyerpool.

My understand is that the owner of this sheets had one set cut professionally for them self and the hand cut the rest to insure there graded set will always be the highest graded set.

If this is true, that’s the most degenerate behavior I’ve seen in the error community.

Yes he posted it on fb miscut page in April asking if anyone wanted to buy before they went to eBay. His personal set was cut professionally to make sure it got top grades.

Never miss a trick when it comes to fleecing collectors. Very disappointing but unsurprising to hear.

I’m sure that guy is a joy to be around doing things like that

If that’s actually true, you saved me a few hundred lol. Glad more of a story appeared on here. I’ll stay far away from these cards.

If they weren’t factory cut, they aren’t legitimate imo.

Good point… Yeah, why make sloppy cuts if you’re doing it yourself? Mostly, I meant that they’re clearly not cut with a straight edge machine. Which makes me wonder who cut them and with what, and why not the factory process? But it’s also worrying that some appear to barely fit, maybe even a little crammed into the slab. I wonder about warping over time, especially if it’s a lighter cardstock.

…and he thought going with prostein was the best idea  ive been buying that dudes auctions for years and i still have no clue how you even submit to him

@tidaldreams if you still can’t figure it out. Send him a email or eBay message and he’ll respond pretty quickly with more information. I live 10 mins from him and if you’re local he’ll let you come pick your order up in person

Is it again the same mod who has a thing for nft cards? I was in the group only for a little while but apparently the same guy really promoted nfts as errors repeatedly and seriously

The way I see it is this: They can either find the right platform (Heritage) to try to sell the whole uncut sheet for a ridiculous amount and hope someone is willing to pay for it. OR they cave into the 50 people they have DM’ing them all saying “Just cut me out this card I will pay $1k for it”. Either way, a seller will typically want to maximize their margin. Otherwise, are you willing to let me buy your whole collection for $5?

Money is the root of all evil. It does make sense that destroying the sheet “to help the community out” to maximize the amount of money they receive is the driving factor. However, as mentioned earlier it was intentionally cut all janky to ensure the other copies the owner has will always be the highest graded set.

Destroy a very rare sheet. :white_check_mark:
Cut it the worst way imaginable. :white_check_mark:
Make as much money as possible off it. :white_check_mark:
Have integrity and honesty. :x:

Not sure what you meant by “Am I willing to sell my collection for $5”
