Probstein123 Auctions 50 White Border Jungle Test Prints

I wouldn’t dare to cut a sheet like this. Personally it’s now destroyed. An item as rare this should’ve been kept as an uncut sheet. Not some cut up cards that look like the guy was drunk and blindfolded when he cut them

As with most of these type of listings, the sheet is more interesting and valuable to me. No offense to anyone interested, but a lot of these cuts look terrible and are just a loud reminder how they weren’t legitimately produced.

Yeah it takes my mind straight back to the Prerelease Raichu shenanigans. It kind of feels like it does the collectors’ sphere a disservice when they do this, it feels so forced, there’s nothing organic about the cut cards. It’s just not the same as things like stage error Blastoise or the Dark Dragonite non-holo error. Just has this air of ‘cash grab L@@K’ about it.

Whoever is bidding nearly $500 on this Flareon… why?

This hobby gets weird sometimes. I was going to bid around $200 on some just to have 1, wouldn’t be surprised if they go over $1k

Is it that weird? It’s a unique card, even if it’s not factory cut/not officially released. And I’m sure there are Flareon species (or Eeveelution) collectors or TCG oddity collectors that would love to own a piece like this. I haven’t followed any of the double-print cards :smoking: cut up, but I would think they fetch prices at least around $500, if not more.

It was factory made when it was a sheet. Once it is cut by not the factory, it mine as well be considered fake

They ran to $2000 after BP last I saw a few auction on ebay. Sad because those actually are really cool for my collection since it was a theme deck sheet that was double printed on.

I was going to bid the vaporeon and kangaskhan to go with my cosmos jungles, they are climbing in price a lot more than I expected. Not to mention how poorly they were cut

Maybe someone else can recall better than me, but if I remember right, the reception and sentiment on the forum when :smoking:/Sean posted about the Make Ready test sheet was mostly positive. At least, it seemed to receive better reception than this sheet in this thread.

It might be fatigue from the same cast of characters destroying a piece of history.

guess I wont be picking any of the eeveelutions up with what prices are already at. Should start making bets for what they’ll go for.

I think this is the most reasonable answer. When the first NFC CGC graded cards came out, they were new and shiny and exciting. Now they are a constant reminder that the owners of these unique items only care about making a quick buck.

Also, the Make Ready Test sheet is much cooler than a poorly cut white border Jungle non-holo in my opinion.

My guess for the eevees would be around $1000

I’m getting real bored of this type of thing

Didnt the make ready test sheet have details missing, therefore more of a test in design and printing as opposed to these which are the same except printed on blank cardstock? I think NFC cards were always controversial but it was being sold as a way more than one collector could enjoy them and that it was more of a one off with cgc grading only for significant sheets. Now it seems to be just a way to multiply your profits since cgc will grade almost anything regardless how badly it is handled.

I agree that I think people are becoming soured to the cutting up of these sheets because of the people/intentions behind it. Again, if I remember right, Sean also posted about the Make Ready sheet under the pretense of “helping the community” (i.e. wanting to allow more people to own a piece of the history and also helping collectors obtain a unique collection piece), but it’s clear from his general personality and other actions that contributing to the community was probably not the main driving factor. (@lyleberr guess I remembered right because you just posted the exact same thing :joy:)

I don’t remember if the Make Ready sheet had details missing/weren’t final card designs.

Did this sheet come from Sean?

I may be incorrect but I dont think who cut it has been officially released. Personally, it doesnt seem to me like it did. The cards would have been more professionally cut since hes shown he has the means to do that.

Dunno, but it sucks to see it cut up regardless. I am also assuming that it was cut up recently… but I guess its possible it wasnt?

Still, the full sheet is the cool part imo
