Agreed, but that’s why sniping tools have made traditional bidding pointless. Put in the max bid days in advance and no one gets to see it until it triggers a few seconds before the ending.
Regular bidding is generally inferior because it exposes your max bid to potential discovery. The seller could use alt accounts / shilling to discover your max bid and make you pay it. Sniping prevents that.
Did you end up getting any clarity on what counts as an “industry reference”? (LGS shop? A vendor? IG seller?) I get the need to screen, but this seems like kind of a weird hoop to jump through…
No idea, but I’m guessing there will be other ways to get the status. If a person buys/sells a lot on the platform surely that would count for something… This reference based method only makes sense because Snype is new and there’s no history for them to look at. So if I end up using the platform a lot I’ll ask about the status once I’ve done a lot of transactions with them.
It looks like the site’s backend is leaking private user info (emails, phone numbers) in a couple locations. I haven’t gone too deep, just a quick check of the HTTP calls being made, I would really hate to see what more sophisticated techniques or an actual penetration test exposes.
This doesn’t give me a whole lot of confidence that my data is secure, enough to put in my credit card and use it that is.
Your items haven’t ended yet. You can’t base an auctions results until it closes. Auction price growth from day 1 to close is not linear. I have seen items go from $100 to $1,000+ in the final minutes, and some items reach their final bid in the first day of auctions as well.
I wanted to add to my bad experience so far I have some niche rare corocoro and other manga mini books etc listed wow its really bad and some good cards listed also its horrible no bids and only a few on some of them are mid to high end as far as rarity. Appendixes a signature edition vhs mini comic #1gotta catch emm all not low end stuff … he told me not to worry about the auctions.
I really hope man pretty huge risk on my part ya I’m curious to see how others auctions turn out. The reason why I’m worried more is because Non Tcg Bandai … CoroCoro Supplements books Comic Books etc are not mainstream there niche. Although, Bandai cards have risen in popularity quite a bit from when I buying them a few years ago.
I got a text this morning about snype or whatever. I deleted it once I got it because it was spammy but I didn’t sign up or anything and have only purchased from probstein on eBay. No idea how they got my cell #
As a seller, you can find buyer phone numbers in the order details after a sale on Ebay. You know, for asking them to move off Ebay and stuff. Very convenient!
And i have bigger items like mega tokyo pikachu on sale and their site doesnt even work LOL so like they said all impacted items will be relisted but lowkey can i just have them sent to ZandG
wtf its plausible other people may have had struggle bidding and issues with the site considering the sites fully down now and im forced have half my stuff sell for a fraction of market LOL and keep the rest. like bruh i know well this articuno is more than 16$
It looks like everything will be relisted so the point is probably moot, but nobody is forcing you to sell anything. You were aware your items would auction on a completely unproven site and chose that option over others.
The site failing under load is unforgivable, but it’s not like items going under market wasn’t reasonably foreseeable.
