I looked on eBay’s sold listing and came across a few ungraded that sold recently. From what I read there is a lot of disdain for half grades. Some seem to dislike the idea of buying one unless they are not from a set. I figured maybe this card would be the exception. So what would you expect this card to be worth. Also, does the low pop matter at all?
The card was graded around 2009, maybe 2008.

The last 9 that I’m aware of sold for ~$1500:
That was 1.5 months ago. The entire market has changed a lot since then, but we don’t have any new high grade sales data for this specific card. In my opinion, considering all the growth in the hobby, it would be reasonable to value the 8.5 at the same price that last 9 sold for.
I agree that for this specific card there isn’t a reason to dislike an 8.5. If we had more sales data I’d assume it would simply be somewhere in the middle between an 8 and a 9 in price.
