zard psa 9 870$ (25 days ago)
zard loose pack, blastoise loose pack, venusaur loose pack- all same seller 750 each (27 days ago)
zard loose pack 1k (27 days ago)

should i keep going?

I don’t see any available lower than $1200.

If you know any currently available under 1k let me know!

that’s people listing them. does not equate to value. c’mon scott just admit you were wrong on this one. the value on loose packs will always fluctuate. that’s the name of the game. i have watched 1st packs closely for the last 3 months. i guess watch count is just lying then on 100’s of best offers accepted or ended auctions prices then?

looking back to about 40-50 days ago they were selling for 1200-1600 depending on the pack art. simple supply and demand. the packs are on a low right now and that’s why prices in the last 20 days have been more around the 850-1,200 mark. Don’t use ebay ended listings for best offers accepted because it only shows the listed price and does not give out the info of the accepted offer. Anyone who has been in collectibles and does dealings on ebay knows you have to always use watch count to get the true value. I did not go by lowest sold listings either. just 50 days back to most recent onward.

PM me…

You have to go back 25 days to get to packs that were selling under 1k, besides the $950 one. Also, is there a reason you’re ignoring some sales? I’ve got a few blastoise booster packs sold for 1000+. I’m also pretty sure the $750 was sold to me which weren’t on eBay long as I picked them up really quick. I hardly call them accurate to market value if they’re not listed on eBay for more than a few hours.

If anyone is looking for a 1st ed booster pack under the $1k mark you probably can, but you should consider yourself lucky if you do.

So we should base current market value on Not the most recent sales?

Regardless, can you please show me where 1st ed base packs are under 1k? I want to be wrong so bad, because I will buy all of them under 1k. Thanks!

Difficult to even count graded pack auctions also. Especially graded a 9. Gross

PSA 10 is even worse. People pay a premium and the pack is just as ruined. Lol

i think you have trouble reading. i said i did not do lowest sales and did most recent sales. how is sales from 2 weeks or less not current prices? Yes stuff changes all the time, but again scott you are dodging my point. i just showed you multiple sales in the last month of stuff under or around 1k. so why are you still bringing up 1200? just cuz that is the current listed pack prices? so what? the demand was high so price is now adjusting. Just like the demand 50 days ago was high and it reflected on the prices at that time as well. I never said under 1k was a fixed price point. Just that the prices OP posted were on the higher end going off of recent sales overall.

to each his own. still does not take away from the fact is a 1st ed zard pack that went for under 1k. (which price is the only relevance in this current topic)

Was not ignoring them. just only posting stuff to prove a point. Of course you also have packs going for 1200+ at the same time. i’m not ignoring that fact 1 bit. I’m just saying if you wait and actually shop around you can pretty much get all 3 pack arts for 3k + or - a few 100$ bucks. with obvious zard being on the higher end and venu on the lower. I think you all took my post in rely the the OP the wrong way. was merely stating a true fact that his prices to pay per pack were on the higher end and if he shopped around he could get them for cheaper. at the end of the day it comes down to so many factors on setting the price of these packs. condition, graded/ungraded, how many people are selling/buying, etc. But saying that no pack can be purchased for under 1k is an outright lie and the proof is right in the watchcount database.

Sure, lets look at the prices for the past two weeks. Here are the sales from the last 2 weeks:

$1,200

$1,100

$1,250

$1,000

$950

These 5 auctions average out to $1,100.

Currently the lowest available pack is at $1,200. No one is saying that a pack couldn’t potentially go lower. The fact is none are currently available under $1200. So for the third time, where can I buy one right now for less than 1k?

If that’s your point you muddied it by having 5 of your 8 examples of packs selling for 1k+. Your claim is you can find them for under 1k each but you have no current day examples or people/places you can buy for the prices you’re claiming. Like I said in my post, if you’re looking for under 1k you might be able to, but consider yourself lucky.

ā€œThis pack is perfect! Its so perfect that we’re going to bend the ends and put it in a case too small for it which will cause irrevocable damage to the pack and maybe even the cards inside it!ā€

I think what Scott is trying to say is you can’t purchase a pack that was already purchased by somebody else. But you CAN purchase a pack that is available today and I can’t find one listed for under 1200.00.

Sorry, not quite on point with this topic, but I wanted to ask a question that was kinda related but I didn’t want to start a new post to do so. What are your thoughts about the value of a PSA 10 1st Ed. Shadowless booster pack with Charizard art as compared with a PSA 10 Master’s Scroll? Is that a fair trade?

You pretty much just answered your own question & validated Scott’s point all in one right there.

That’s a steal if you’re the one trading the pack. If it’s the other way around, please don’t do it.
