I remember when this card sold for $10.5k in 2009 or 2010. It was a huge deal on PokeGym at the time. I feel old

May look small at 10.5K now, but that was a huge chunk of money to put towards a single card when you could put it towards a vast array of other cards or sealed items. Even going mint raw 1st Ed Charizards you could have gotten like 40+ copies (1mill equivalent @PSA9), so it wouldn’t have been an ideal decision, not to mention high risk due to legitimacy at the time unless you really wanted the prestige of owning it. I think even now the value of the card is disproportionate to it’s historical interest, but for those around long enough it will have that appeal higher than others due to the same nostalgia that got most of us back in collecting at the time.
Whose copy was this? Didn’t realise PSA finally graded one after all this time.

From what I’ve observed it seems like the only people who care and/or have an opinion about this card are those who were around to debate it’s existence back in the days of yore. Most seem indifferent to it (myself included).
I predict it will go much higher than some expect yet much lower than others expect.
Will be interesting to see nonetheless.
