Whichever way you look at it these are not cheap cards.
why do UK buyers pay such obscene amount of money for raw cards. That’s so dumb. Nearly $1000 for an ungraded card.
In my experience, it is a combination of factors. One big one being PSA is not as accessible. The other is domestic european buyers tend to pay top dollar or a bit more. I think the lack of customs duties and whatnot influence this decision to buy locally. At least that is what I am told from a couple European/UK businesses.

This pretty much.
@woolsluk Damn that’s high price for Espeon, in some way I wish highest bidder decides to skip payment.

that espeon went for a huge price! especially when you factor in the potato cam pictures
UK prices can get horrendous. I’m in one of the Facebook buy/sell groups and I see cards with bends/folds sell for crazy amounts.
I feel that we don’t have as big of a graded cards culture so people mainly collect for binders.
No real evidence for this just an estimation.

The same seller has another espeon ungraded up. Not sure if it’s the same copy that went for too much.

I remember messaging him when he first listed the card and I’m sure he told me he pulled two Umbreons and one Espeon.
The winning bidder probably backed out of paying?
