These Johto arts are incredible! I’m so sad that they’re in Pocket and not in a dedicated TCG set like Black Bolt & White Flare.

Gen 2 is showing loyalty back to me after my love for it all these years! 20 packs and was able to pull my first ever crown rare (from one of my favorite Pokemon!) and the legendary “new art coming soon” error card. Pretty excited!

Brief observation - you can randomly get a 6th card in these packs, it will seemingly always be a 3 
baby pokemon. Not clear if you can pull a baby Pokémon outside of the random sixth card

When I pulled pichu it made a weird sound as if the card was rare but I wasn’t paying enough attention to the card numbers.

We have been made aware of some criticism of the illustrator regarding the illustrations of Ho-Oh EX (★3) and Lugia EX (★3) in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, which we announced on Wednesday, July 30th.
The illustration error in this case was caused by the card production team at The Pokémon Company and Creatures, Inc. providing the illustrator with incorrect information as official, and all responsibility lies with the client.
While most illustrations are typically created with the illustrator’s creativity and individuality in mind, for some illustrations, we may ask the illustrator to simply redraw the concept sketches created by the card production team. This incident occurred in a request for the latter scenario, where the card production team provided incorrect concept sketches. Good for them. Sucks Pokemon had such a screw up in their direction for the art and that they were caught in the middle of it.
Their Ho-oh is much better than the reference material.
Their Lugia is still awkward as before. But Lugia is seemingly an awkward Pokemon to draw. Or maybe I just can’t fathom the neck physics.

I liked the old lugia, but they’re perfectly fine, and I’m REALLY glad they let the same artist redeem her artistic soul. I know I’d feel awful, if I didn’t get a second crack at it.
