So, if I know I’m gonna lose a battle, there’s no point in wasting everyone’s time, right? If I concede, does my opponent miss out on any exp or anything?

Nope, there’s nothing adverse that happens if you concede.

I noticed occasionally when opponents look likely to lose. They become inactive and let the clock run down during their turn. On one occasion I got distracted and returned to the match to find I lost. Is this some sort of tactic people are using in an attempt to avoid a loss?
I noticed this pattern happening a lot more during the consecutive win event.

It’s what sore losers do.
You may be using a meta deck if this is happening frequently as well.

Mainly during the current battle event. Yeah, I guess I was using a Meta deck for this with Articuno ex (and Faretch’d) deck.
Quite of the people doing this had Mewtwo or Pikachu decks…there was maybe one that wasn’t using something like that - Memtal and Mawile

I’ve accidentally passed my turn because I was thinking way to hard lmao.
It has happened 3-4 times now.
So it can be the case, not only sore losers.
