Again, it’s so odd that people aren’t allowed to have and share their own opinions here without backlash. Apparently we are too poor to state that Goldin took a bad approach partnering with a complete loser. Money > Integrity
People are angry because of the frequency of scams - no one cared about the multiple record breaking auctions this year has seen
You give Ken way too much credit assuming he knows what E4 is. Like he said, he only started paying attention to Pokemon when he realized he could make money. Here is Ken shilling Premium File Cards on QVC
Probably Logan’s media manager tbh
@chrispy also you’re wrong about Ken’s affiliation with LM. Goldin and Liquid Marketplace had a “strategic partnership”—at minimum they were considering integrating their businesses. Also it is very well documented that everyone has NOT in fact been paid out in full by Liquid Marketplace—many people still have money stuck in the app, and most of those who were given payouts were only offered a fraction of what they put in. Stop taking everything Logan and Ken say for face value
Name 20 people here that could’ve afforded that card. I’ll wait. Acting like we could afford it anyway. Has this specific purchase on Feb 19 started a boom? Has prices went to shit specifically because of this purchase on Feb 19 ? Does this actually have any long term affects in our lives?
No, No, and no.
Just because you (or me) don’t have 16 million dollars doesn’t mean there can’t be a discussion about it.
I am tired of this “if you can’t afford it shut your lip” attitude going on recently
If you cant afford it and it clearly doesn’t have a repercussion that affects you in short or long term, why are you complaining?
Brother, you’re a bit naive here. This isn’t a simple sale, but a circus performance purposefully built to scavenge as much money as possible and create the most hype possible. Like it or not, this is going to impact others besides the millionaires magic circle
Again, I think you’re missing the point by a country mile. I don’t think anyone is mad about the sale price per se. I think people are mad about the deep and well documented provenance of fraud linked to Logan, the Illustrator, and Ken Goldin. This is the perfect example of a bunch of bad actors using our hobby as a pawn to line their pockets.
Sorry, but you won’t catch me licking Ken Goldin and Logan’s boots just for making national news because a politician’s trust-fund son spent way too much on a fraudulent PSA 10 to promote his “treasure hunting” website (obviously a mystery pack slot machine)
“If you can’t afford it you aren’t allowed to have an opinion”
You are such a bozo. This card has had legitimate accusations of fraud linked to it for the last 15 years—I’d be more concerned if people in the hobby didn’t have opinions about it
Did you mean to tag me? I never mentioned Ken having any affiliation with Liquid Marketplace. I literally timestamped where he discussed LQ in his video.
I didn’t think myself or many others were complaining about the sale price. There was a discussion of why Kenny G was sounding off on us broke hoes over here. When he is the one shaking hands with dirty AF laundry
@chrispy I have the receipts bro
I find this kind of willfully obtuse yarn-spinning to be incredibly unproductive
Idk what to say if you can’t see that the majority of people are mad about the extensive history of fraud linked to Logan, the Illustrator, and Ken Goldin + that they’re completely ill-intentioned. All they want to do is prop up the hobby for all of the wrong reasons and cash in. I think it is completely fair for people to not think that is a good thing
Exactly. So I never said he had any affiliation with the LQ debacle because he doesn’t.
Until a legitimate accusation is levied against Logan (or Ken) with a civil or criminal judgement being awarded to a plaintiff, all the youtube drama farming in the world isn’t going to change this.
For the record, I don’t care about the poors and “broke hoes” having an opinion. EVERYONE is welcome to their own opinion - that just doesn’t mean said opinion will have an impact on their business model or decisions. A legitimate business like an auction house doesn’t care about the whine. They’re in it for the sale. You guys can literally cry about the sale all you want and that won’t bother me in the slightest. I’ll even offer a violin.

Also, welcome to the forum ![]()
Thank you, yes I am already aware of Kens past of overselling things to unsuspecting grandmas on QVC. Note that QVC is bankrupt now.
As a Certified Poor™ I think its kinda unfortunate that the supposed peak of the hobby, the quintessential trophy card, the best of the best, has ended up with a guy who’s pokemon collection starts and ends at this card. I feel like it was sort of always going to happen eventually but idk I would have loved for it to go to someone passionate about Pokemon and not someone who is passionate about ‘Things’
I don’t think we should judge the level of passion someone has from the outside. It can be hard to tell. That guy wants to buy a t-rex fossil. I think that’s cool. If I had the means I would also want a freaking T-Rex squeleton in my house. There’s also nothing of definite proof to indicate that he doesn’t have a genuine appreciation for the illustrator. He probably has, because he could have bought a lot of other “cool” things with this amount.
I’d even say Logan Paul has a genuine interest in pokemon cards, one piece and others
I’d even say that the majority of social influencers making pokemon their business, behind all these obnoxious content about money, have a genuine passion for pokemon, though it may be hard to see at times
In general it’s just unlikely for someone to dedicate that much time and effort into a subject without having any inclination towards it
what he is doing at least sounds more productive than creating a “fund” of overpriced cards and then dumping them on ur noob “investors” ![]()
remember when liquid marketplace had the expedition charizard and fractionalized it at a value of 200k ![]()
