Pokemon Fossil 1999-2000/Australian/3rd Print Run

Almost just did this. I’m very glad I read this comment. So, we can confirm there is no 1999-2000 Jungle variation?

thats correct

Anyone know if the Jungle and Fossil Theme Decks also got this print run. Or was it just the boosters.

The jungle have no distinguishable difference, so the cards themselves are irrelevant.

99-00 Fossil cards can be found in Red Logo packs and theme decks, as well as the Tempest gift box.

I’m not looking for differences in the cards themselves. I’m looking for differences in the packaging.

There is a 99-00 on the box and booster pack of base set (4th run)
There are red logo Jungle & Fossil booster packs

I am wondering whether there are boxes for jungle and fossil that are specific to this print run like for base set.

yes, the pokemon logo on the australian jungle and fossil booster boxes are also red

Check out @bluey 's collection thread for red logo fossil decks. Red logo jungle decks are more common and you can likely find some images for those in addition to what @acebren shared

So what you’re telling me is that my recently bought Galaxy Holo Zapdos, is made in Australia?

I noticed something was off when I recieved it. But does this mean that it is more rare aswell?

check it out:

Slightly rarer, but this is going to be the most common holofoil of the set as it came in the Tempest Gift Box, which had a wider release.

This is also the only holo with that date. Those gift boxes were released world wide, so it was not printed exclusively in Australia.

Right. It only shares the unique texturing with the remainder of the holos.

Slowpoke here: is this thread alive?

I have one Exeggcute and one Tauros (from jungle set) with the 1999-2000 dating. I don’t know how to post pictures though.

the jungle set never had a 1999-2000 run, are you sure its not a foreign card, or a jungle card as part of base set 2?

yep they’re foreign

I never really checked the language. Looks Italian. Well, so much for that.

While I have a like-minded Pokemon-collector “on-line”; The “foreign” cards (italian, german, french, spanish etc) are totally similar to the english though? Only Japan has distinguishable differences, apart from the language?

yeah japapanese is the only card that has differnt back if thats what you mean

There are print quantity and distribution differences, but overall German/French/Italian/Spanish/Portuguese follow the English set release. Spanish I think didn’t have holos in EX series, Portuguese hasn’t had reverse holos for a bunch of sets, etc so there are minor differences, but overall it’s the same card sets.

Korean tends to follow Japanese for the newer sets, but they used to do “Series” sets prior which contained mixtures of cards from various other english expansions.

Russian cards (I believe) follow English expansions but are only like XY timeframe onwards? I don’t have time to reconfirm what set was first. They definitely had Furious Fists.

Chinese has Base and EX Legend Maker cards.

Polish only has Mysterious Treasures.

I think that about covers it. Haha.

Russian started with XY Base and has been printed since. For sets that is. It technically started with a McDonald’s promo series in 2012 then picked up in 2014 with the XY release.
