Pokemon Financial Reports

I’ve taken an interest in Pokemon as a company, in particular their financials. Thus far, I have only been able to find a single report breaking down their business revenue for 2019 on a third party website.

Anyone know where I can find actually white paper reports that stock holders would see?

I can’t find primary sources for some reason either. Here’s a website detailing their previous financials for the last three years, but it’s a simple half page summary of overall revenue, profit etc.

Seems like it’s an internal release, almost all the websites/reports about the 2019 financials cites this article on gamebiz.jp so they might not be releasing this information publicly. Japan also have a Companies House style databse with company information, but it seems as though you need a government business account to access it.

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a lot to go on for non-shareholders. Here’s pokemon jp’s corporate website, it’s just fluff but perhaps you can find something I missed

Thanks @pokekuma13. I just assumed that publicly traded companies were more transparent. Though, now that I think about it, Pokemon is co-owned between Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak. Nintendo is the only publicly traded one of the lot that I can find info on. Maybe the info I am looking for is buried in their reports.

You can go the Nintendo’s 10k Annual reports and look for the section labeled “Information about related party”. It breaks out Pokemon’s revenue separately. It’s not very detailed though, but it’s a start. You can track their growth over the past few years or go further back and see revenue then vs now.

Got a little deep into Nintendo’s financials earlier today after I responded to this post. Looks like Nintendo grew a lot since fiscal year 2016.

504,459 million Yen - 2016
1,308,519 million Yen - 2020

I’m sure Pokemon has a lot to do with it. Also the Switch.

I bet by the end of 2021 they’ll triple their 2016 number.

This is the revenue of Nintendo as a whole.
