Pokemon Adventures Manga (What It Is and How to Obtain It)

Quite seldom actually! Now that they’ve finished all the other sets (sun & moon and black 2 white 2) and afaik sword & shield is the only ongoing set there’s just one new book in around 3-4 months what i’ve seen from upcoming releases

Has Satoshi Yamamoto only illustrated a single Pokémon card or are there others he has done which just aren’t well documented?

That waiting period is common for most other ongoing manga but the Sw&Sh volumes are super short aren’t they?

Everywhere I’ve looked says that he only illustrated the Arceus DP Promo 50. I’m going to assume that’s the only one he’s done. I’m surprised that he hasn’t illustrated more.

I just picked up some of the collector’s editions last year. I wanted to read the manga and guess I chose the right time lol. I’m personally really happy with it so far. It’s very enjoyable to read through the original storylines, not to mention they have all the art in the first few pages. I am only on volume 4 (Crystal) atm, but I have up to 7. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys Pokemon, honestly, it’s pretty great. I personally never really got into the anime as a kid bc I liked how Red was more stoic in the games and ended up finding Ash to be annoying lol.

Seems that way. Do we know if Mato (真斗) illustrated any cards prior to her retirement from the Pokemon manga? I guess not? Just seems like she only illustrated a couple nice phone cards.

I didn’t even know she illustrated phone cards. Would you mind dropping those on here if you can find them?

Google image search this: ポケモン テレホンカード 真斗. You will find lots of pics of the two cards.

@beggles, thanks! These cards are both super cute. I think the card on the right was one of the volume covers if I recall correctly.

Just a little something to be aware of, the English books that does not have the word Adventure in the title is not the full volume. To explain it simply, because the games are coming out so fast, and the chapters in Japanese magazines were released slowly, (if I remember correctly, BW2 was still not finished until sometime during ORAS or SM) so the English publishers released smaller books with magazine chapters while waiting on the full volumes to be released in Japan. Usually the full volumes has maybe some touched up art, and extra story not in the magazines.

For example, the full Pokemon Adventures XY vol 2 should be out in English 10th May.

Another interesting tibit, there is also a special chapter based on the Gold VS Red battle on top of Mt. Silver in the GSC /HGSS games, not in any of the books. This chapter has not been officialy released in English as far as I know.

Yes, only around 80 pages

Damn, that is really slow but I guess that’s better than not getting it at all.
