Pack Weighers Only...Please Read. PM REPLYS ONLY PLEASE.

REPLY BY PM ONLY PLEASE. DONT POST INFO HERE PUBLICLY.

About 2001 I got loads of foreign base boxes and packs cause I was building sets for myself, friends, and buyers. I opened up all the boxes and used those to build sets. Somehow the packs ended up in a large box along with Wizards foreign advertisement posters and were forgotten about…until last year.
Ever since I’ve been sitting on these packs cause I didn’t know if they were weighed out before I got them 15 years ago.
So to the point…a very high end customer wants to purchase some of my packs.
In order to properly describe them I need to weigh them and see if they are stripped of holo packs.
Is knowing the weight differential enough to gauge if they contain holos or not? What is that differential?

Pm me the info please.

To satisfy my curiosity, when I am going to open every pack in a a sealed box, I will weigh every pack and track the results. I see fluctuations in pack weigh other than foil. I wonder if that might be ink weigh or slight variations in packaging. Most packs only vary by .1 to .3 grams.

Heavier packs have better pull rates but that is not absolute

weight-.2g 13 3 1

I masked the weights because I was unsure if I should reveal them.

Is it really necessary to discuss this very controversial topic in public? If the “very high end customer” wants you to weigh the packs, certainly he should be able to give you the info you seek.

No, he didn’t need them weighed. Him, like me, know nothing about it.
If you read my op you’ll see why I asked. I wanted to be able to describe them honestly…as weighed or not.
You have a problem with that old man lol.
Plus, I said a pm with the answer is fine.

Just concerned that if we have these details listed publicly, we essentially are creating have a how-to guide for those looking to weigh packs for nefarious reasons. (I’m not suggesting you yourself are doing it for the wrong reasons.)

Pm sending…

And for good reason.

ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP PLEASE PM ME. DONT LIST INFO HERE,

My motto: if they are weighed then you grade! Sealed product is sealed product to me  but that is only because I don’t open older packs.

Let me say that my perspective is that of a buyer not a seller, I believe in transparency. That being said I value sealed product over open any day which is why I don’t mind as much.

If someone needs a how-to guide, they aren’t very bright. The most valuable thing would be English pack weights.

Me too man, me too.

Or

Hit up our founder here, smpratte, who has the service.

Since we are on the topic of weighing packs, and I know you are against it in most cases, I want to ask you something.

What is your opinion on selling graded weighed packs, so people can collect the artwork’s without the packs ever getting damaged and not having to worry about locking away a nice holo card?

Are you against it even at that point?

Thanks

Yeah…those cards could eventually hit the market.

I feel like this thread has run its course and is now getting off-topic. Additionally it concerns shady practices so I’m locking it.
