I’m looking for a guide or any information on booster pack odds/distributions over the years. As an example, I know that SWSH1/SSH packs contain:
5 common cards
3 uncommon cards
1 energy
1 parallel set card
1 rare+ card
What I don’t know is:
What cards can fill the parallel slot? Usually, this is common/uncommon/rares, but apparently can also contain certain other kinds of special rares. The types of rares that can fill this slot have apparently changed on a set-by-set basis over the years.
What cards fill the rare card slot? For SWSH1 I believe this is rare, rare holo, and at least “Rare V” and I think “Rare VMAX”.
So I’m not clear in particular which slot the rainbow rares, the secret rares, the gold secret rares ETC take in these packs. I’m looking for this kind of information – without, necessarily, the actual pull rates – just the slot information – for booster packs over the years.
Yeah, the parallel slot is the one that seems the most interesting as a deviation from what you might expect otherwise. I seem to recall hearing that Shiny Vault cards from HIF also occupied that slot, but never confirmed this personally.
Sure, so … in general, most official rarities “above” Holo Rare (Listed in the checklist, ETB) occupy the rare slot.
Except:
Rare Secret (but only in CEC!)
Rare Shiny, Rare Shiny GX (Shiny Vault is the only appearance of these rarity levels, *AFAIK*)
Rare BREAK (in all sets it occurs in)
Rare (Only for EX Unseen Forces Unown subset – which curiously uses “Rare” instead of “Holo Rare”)
Rare Prime (This rarity only seen during HGSS era)
Any other parallel slot takers?
I don’t recall how Radiant Collection 1 or 2 were packed, or if there are other one-off cards that maybe occupied the slots. This seems very difficult to track down!
