Old back Japanese Charizard holo error?

Will do! I’m also super curious. How were they promoted when being sold? Were they promoted as errors?

If you have another base set zard upload photos of both side by side. Also some straight on photos with good lighting make it easier to compare to other images so people can show you looks incorrect.

I can see literally dozens of things wrong with the card, however if you can’t see the blatant differences in colour, quality, clarity of the text/artwork etc, it would be a futile effort on my part to list them for you

again this is a very low quality fake…

Hey man! Didn’t think I would get your attention. Thanks for commenting though! I appreciate it.

I appreciate all of you and I’m not trying to argue back and say you’re all wrong.

Yes it doesn’t look right, I know it doesn’t. I’ll try work it out even if I have to send to CGC.

Thank you everyone.

It very well could be real. But it looks really fake. The colours are off, the holo pattern doesn’t align with what you’d expect. I actually own a fake copy that looks similar to this.

A card like this is fake until proven authentic. It looks very different from a standard charizard so the burden of proof is on evidence of authenticity. It’s either an extremely rare never-before seen exclusive variant or it’s fake. I would side with occam’s razor and put my money on it being fake

That being said, I’d love to be proven wrong. Getting it graded with CGC would definitely make me revise my opinion

one VERY obvious problem, besides the literally dozens of others which should be apparent with this side by side…

just completely missing holofoil, blacked out lol

Yes. As I’ve stated many times. I know the art box is strange. However the rest of the card lines up.

So if it is fake, I’m thinking it’s been re-backed.

Anyway, I’m saying the art box is the error and the misprint.

Well that was my point. The art box was the point of my post. Is it re-backed and tampered with? Possibly.

However, as someone else stated. It’s fake until proven authentic. So, I’ll just go with fake for now. I’ve got no hard feelings toward anyone here.

Was genuinely just trying to have a thoughtful discussion, I wasn’t trying to come across as aggressive. There’s always new errors popping up that have never before been seen. So, who knows :man_shrugging:

I believe they were just sold as the normal one usually in lots

This was day 1 of E4 law school, the class was a prerequisite for forum.

Just post more pictures what?

The rest of the card doesn’t line up, the whole thing is low quality, text is blurry, colour is wrong, centering is terrible - which isn’t always a sign of a counterfeit card, however its a common theme with counterfeits

You’ve got a classic low quality fake, I feel like your judgement is being swayed due to the ‘think i hit gold’ factor.

Low quality fake. Doesn’t match a regular card at all.

If you want some advice besides our opinions, you should get x30-60 magnificaton photos of the attack text for example, and do the same with an authentic Media Factory base Charizard. Upload both photos side by side here so we can be 100% sure it’s an orica.

Saw another instance of this Zard on Twitter so it’s likely these fakes are the equivalent of the fake holos that were widely spread in the USA.

USA Example:

Twitter (repliers informed OP the card was fake)
