My guess is that the silvering is found on the made in USA cards. The zard and other holos I pulled from the short crimp Portuguese made in USA packs had it.
@JobbsterTCG If you have samples of the two different versions, side by side the made in USA ones with silvering should also have a slightly more intense magenta ink making colors more saturated/vibrant.
You can see the Hitmonchan on the right has a slightly more red.
For anyone looking back on this thread for research purposes, like me, this is the Japanese film release date. According to Pokémon’s Facebook page and the film’s Wikipedia page, the film would later be released in North America on April 6th, 2001
