thank you all for the input. ive been collecting for about 6 years (though im new to the forum) and have been a pokemon fan since I was a kid (late 1998/early 1999 is when i first was introduced to Pokémon).
i’ve already completed:
-japanese base to neo revelation (still need to pick up japanese shinings but those will take time)
-southern islands
-gold stars (full set in psa 1)
-prime (full set in psa 9)
-vending (fully complete all 3 series including the extra cards and masaki promos)
-rumble
-pokepark (forest + blue + ride promos)
-wotc black star promos
-90% finished all delta species symbolized pokemon cards
-vs series (have all the trainer + elite four pokemon that were in the actual G/S game)
-1 card away from finishing the ANA Promo set
I’m more of a binder/set completer than I am a grail chaser, as you can probably see from my collection. I do have a pretty big collection of graded individual cards but find myself less and less attached to them. nothing beats looking at a full binder page of amazing vintage cards.
I’m looking for more “sets” I can complete. The World Promos are a good suggestion, as well as some of the others. But was curious if there were any lesser known, niche, Japanese exclusive sets I may have been missing out on. For example, I only recently discovered the PokePark series.
I have a special affinity for cards that make up a set that had a “real world” criteria to acquire them, like the pokepark ride promos, or wotc black star promos. the world championship trophy cards also fill that criteria i guess but for some reason, im not particularly drawn to trophy cards.
