I’m looking to buy this Mew card (PSA 9) and would really appreciate a second opinion.
Overall, the colours look nicely saturated, but I noticed a small spot on Mew’s cheek (right side) where the black cheek line seems to be interrupted. It almost looks like a tiny area where the print is missing and the holo layer might be shining through.
Do you think this is an actual print defect or just a lighting/reflection issue? What worries me is that the spot shows up in every photo the seller provided, even when the angle changes.
PS: Unfortunately there are no scans available on the PSA website to compare.
Thank you, everyone! I think I’ll follow your advice and refrain from buying that copy. I was initially interested because the colours look very nicely saturated, which is exactly what I’m looking for. But a possible defect would drive me a bit insane, haha!
I asked the seller for one more close-up photo—just to confirm it’s only lint and not an actual surface issue—but he isn’t providing any new pictures. He just keeps saying the card is fine, and that makes me a bit uneasy.
So yeah, better to be safe than sorry. Thanks again for the input!
90% of the time I put a slab down and go to take a picture, there will be some form of dust on it so it is likely just that if the card is a PSA 9.
Personally I would still ask the seller to confirm. It shouldn’t be a problem but sometimes can be annoying as a seller to be asked about small flaws on already graded cards because it hints that the buyer could be a problem/super picky, and they may not want to deal with that type of buyer. Some sellers won’t notice the dust when taking the photo, will have put the slab away and then can’t be bothered to get it back out to check
