Here is a lovely little collection I want to share. My goal is to fill this box with graded Japanese old-back holo cards.
It will be about 60 cards or so when I’m done. Main reason for doing this particular collection is nostalgia. I started collecting back when Jungle was the new set (so as close to the beginning without starting with Base) and I never left the hobby.
I really love these cards and they mean a lot to me. Snorlax and Lapras are two of my favorite Pokémon, I always wanted those cards in English as a kid but never pulled them.
Here comes Team Rocket hits different after the original anime ended. I watched that anime since it started here in Norway, until it ended in Japan. I have seen the entire show except for a few old Christmas special episodes that have not been released anywhere except in Japan, and on VHS. (Unless they were those Christmas specials that were a part of Pokémon Chronicles) Team Rocket is also my favorite team of villains in the games.
Neo discovery Politoed was one of my favorite cards I had in Englash as a small child.
Shining Mew was the first or one of the first Japan exclusive cards I saw. I think I was 11 or 12 when I first saw a picture of it on a now defunct official Norwegian Pokémon forum.
Trainer Certification / Grand Party was one of the first “high end” cards I bought (depending on your definition of high end, I’m well aware there are cards much more expensive than it, but it feels high end to me) its a really nice card and one of those I’m least likely to ever sell if I have to sell. It feels great to have and its one of those cards that makes me feel really when I think about my collection.
The future of this collection: its currently on the back burner while I’m doing a Glory of Team Rocket binder collection because I think that set is one of the coolest sets Pokémon has ever done, but this is the collection I want to share, because it makes me happy and I want to share my happiness.
I hope to one day be lucky enough to get a Fan Club Eevee. In good condition its above my budget, with a bit of luck I should eventually be able to get one in PSA graded 4 or 5. And I will be very happy with that I think.
The collection will grow at my own snail pace and there is nothing wrong with that.
