Unfortunate news, money can bring out the worst in people ![]()
It’s crazy the amount of stores that have been robbed in a systematic manner since last year. There are now more of them that have been robbed (in France) than not. Not the unprepared type of heist too. Each time they know which item to steal and the configuration of the place. Maybe a network ?
More money, more exposure, exactly as you said Will it’s one of those negative side effects we saw a lot of in the covid market too. I’m sure he’ll have decent insurance but I’d hate to be in a position to try and make a significant claim with them on something as niche as pokemon cards. Might be able to prove original purchase value but how would you even go about trying to adequately explain proof of current market value to an insurer? I mean, it can be explained, but what would they tangibly accept? Unless they’re a ‘specialist’ collectibles insurer who might be a bit easier to deal with.
Wow … yeah take this as a sign from the universe, be anonymous!
Dont give your personal info or address. Use a PO Box. Or use anonymous selling platforms (eg. Vinted if you are in the EU).
And get insurance!
Second this,
Not your keys not your crypto uh I mean pokemon cards
Although in this case looks like it physical store front so a little harder
In this case I actually think not your keys = safer , sadly
Do you think it’s time for a theft megathread? There have been a few vendor robberies that I’ve wanted to post but didn’t want to spam and spread negativity, but I think having a place where we can spread awareness on theft and stolen cards is not unimportant.
It’s not a terrible idea but there’s lots of potential for drama when the inventoried contraband resurfaces.
Yes.
