misprint or fake pokemon card?

i recently bought some pokemon cards at walmart. within one pack was a strange mudkip 33/160 holo. instead of showing its ID number as 258, it is number 363, spheal’s ID number. aside from that, his hp is 3050, and in his description, it says “lift” as opposed to “heft” on the normal 33/160 mudkip. if this isnt strange enough, i also got a spheal 46/160 holo with 4560 hp. the only difference on spheal was the hp. i looked into identifying fake cards, and they show none of the signs of fake cards. the colors are consistent and sharp, same durability as normal cards, bright light will not shine through whatsoever, etc. any advice?

Extremely high HP is a dead giveaway of a fake Pokemon card, sorry!

It couldnt have possibly been a misprint? Its happened quite often in Pokemon card history. I do not see how they could be fake being purchased from walmart in an unopened pack of cards.

You may have purchased a 3rd party repack from Walmart, which is not an official Nintendo product

So high HP cant be misprinted by Nintendo?

Anything is possible, but High HP is basically the trademark of a fake card :stuck_out_tongue:

There are legitimate misprints that have no listed HP. So why is it unfeasible for them to misprint high HP?

I can tell you they’re real if that’s what you want to hear lol

I want someone that knows how to accurately analyze cards to give me information on how to check if they are real or fake, not just somebody assuming they’re fake because they have high HP.

Sorry @acebren is correct; definitely a fake…

Maybe post a picture. It sounds fake though.

Can’t tell if you’re serious or just trolling.

I dont understand how I gave you any indication of trolling. I purchased these from a pokemon pack from Walmart. And as I stated it shows NO signs of being fake according to the research that I have done aside from the high HP.

High HP is all you need to confirm the authenticity. Aside from Ace already explaining to you all the other variables, there’s really not much to discuss. Show us a picture, I can already tell that the borders are thick as heck and the background on the artwork is off; without a picture.

Eh, the colors are slightly lighter on the back now that I am looking at them in the afternoon sun rather than this morning :stuck_out_tongue:

Borders are no thicker than my original 1995 Raichu… So I don’t think the borders being “thick as hell” is accurate

.

i posted some

Forget about the borders – the holo patterns on the mudkip and spheal are a dead giveaway that the cards are fake

Whys that?
