@muk I see what you mean about this one having some heft compared to those Tierlists before, whereas after this were some sets (Base/ Illustration contest) and even full-blown generation art styles (original ex) to tier up after. Thank you all very much for trying and commenting here. If I couldn’t make anyone’s expectations I apologize, it wasn’t personal.

That totodile deck abra is surprisingly rare and with artwork unique to that set. What happened to all the neo intro decks? Did they just not print that many? The bulba/squirtle decks are everywhere but the neo decks are just gone.
The Neo Starter Set has always been speculated to have had a lower print run, but unique set it is!
They have always been scarce and somewhat pricey compared to other Japanese sealed products - at least since around 2017, when I re-entered the hobby. I guess there just weren’t that many produced to begin with. At the same time, it has also always been a very stagnant item compared to almost every other sealed vintage product. The cards themselves are pretty scarce in good condition, but also rather cheap when graded IMO. The fact that they used the standard set versions of Meganium and Feraligatr for the ‘chase’ holo slot probably didn’t help the popularity of the set. Just very very niche overall - but definitely some beautiful cards in there
