User @goghconcoct posted this thread on Feb 26 asking for opinions on how to authenticate their Ken Sugimori autographed Gastly card.
They also posted on Reddit under the username “RRennaissance”

The autograph looked real to me, and on a cool card, so reached out to see if they would be willing to sell. We agreed to a deal for the card, and he sent it on it’s way.
On March 16th, user @Giovanni created a thread asking for opinions on a Dark Charizard sketch up for sale on ebay from a 0 feedback user. This is identified as a fake, and smpratte shares that the IP addresses for @goghconcoct and @Giovanni are very similar. They’re both in a high populated area, so can’t say for sure they’re the same person.
This thread was created the day the card was set to arrive to me.
While not able to confirm these two users are the same, pfm is able to confirm that users @goghconcoct and @rensixfold ARE the same user. Wait, who?
@rensixfold created this thread on November 22, 2025, sharing a Reddit thread asking about opinions on a Skarmary Sugimori autograph from a deceased brother’s collection. Consensus was that the autograph was not authentic.
In that thread, @rensixfold shows that they are the reddit user “Artistic-Jellyfish70”.
So, at this point, we know “rensixfold (Forum)” = “Artistic-Jellyfish70” (Reddit) = “goghconcoct (Forum)” = “RRennassiance (Reddit)”
We do not know, however, that the original Reddit user who posted this Skarmory autograph, “Sure_Gazelle_3874” is the same as this other user.
We can though, look at their post history on Reddit. Sure_Gazelle has minimal post history, but one of their three posts is on the OntarioGrade12s subreddit. We know that the user above is also located in Ontario based on shipping address of the Gastly.
We can see that Artistic-Jellyfish70, who is already know is the Gastly seller, also posts in this same subreddit
This is either a wild coincidence that all three of these accounts are in Toronto, CA, and two them post in this very specific subreddit, or they’re all the same person. That would mean that the person who forged the autograph and story for Skarmory is the same as the Gastly seller. And maybe the dark Charizard sketch.
We can also see that Artistic-Jellyfish70 makes Pokemon art based on existing artwork
Draw what conclusions you’d like, but art student/artist is a pretty solid foundation for forging.

After all this, “rensixfold" (Forum) = “Artistic-Jellyfish70” (Reddit) = “goghconcoct" (Forum) = “RRennassiance" (Reddit) extremely likely= “Sure_Gazelle_3874” (Reddit) likely= “Giovanni” (Forum).
The provenance on the Gastly was iffy to begin with, but we want to believe, right? Plausible deniability? Had a story of how they got it signed, what deck they played with, but nothing else. Just a story and a nice looking “autograph”. When buying autographs, make sure the provenance is there, and/or buy from trusted sources. And in my opinion, do not buy this Gastly, or anything from this user.
