Light for checking card condition?

I remember hearing TCA or some youtuber talk about how they had a special lamp that would show imperfections better than normal light so they could check their cards better before sending them in for grading, does anyone know what kind of lamp this would be?

I just use a high-powered LED; a camping headlamp.

Light bulbs from target

I prefer to strike a torch, the flickering flame really helps pass waves of light over the card.

I have the oldest eyes on the fourum plus I’ve pregraded since pokesyn was chewing up pacifiers. Here’s the best I’ve ever used,
The NFK 4026 has always been my “go to”. I use two and have two new/sealed ones put aside if mine break down…though you can buy the fluorescent tube replacement quite easily. The lamp is discontinued but they pop up from time to time.
Check the pic of one below.

I use a black light and have a flashlight black light I use to get up close with the flaws. Here’s some examples: imgur.com/a/lifEF

I should add one thing.

The graders use, or before the move did use if not still, 25w fluorescents with an 8x jewelers loop. I’ve always used the same thing so I’d get their exact view. The lamp I showed above has a 27w fluorescent light.
