I wouldn’t have recognized Katy Perry tbh. Never heard of J Balvin. I’m most definitely not the target audience tho.
However I would strongly prefer TPC to keep these cards with real people on them special and ultra rare (and arguably super weird looking). M Sachiko EX, Ishihara GX and this other dude who’s name I can’t remember. These are crazy unique, absurd looking cards, reserved for the very top echelon of niche collectors. I would like this kind of cards to stay so elusive. Just my 2 cents tho.
I’ve just realised that these 3 cards along with the Ishihara GX card are not trainer cards, but instead they’re Basic Pokémon cards. That means Katy Perry, J Balvin and Post Malone are now technically unnumbered Pokémon in the Pokédex.
I think that Katy Perry card is just an overall nice looking card, although I also would not have known it was supposed to be her unless her name was at the top of it
Besides the stamp promos, this may be the most unique release this year. They’re definitely better than the gold box promos that everyone wants.
The fact that the artwork is on the pokemon music website probably means these cards will be distributed to the public. If they don’t release it with their upcoming album, it would be a missed opportunity to make $$$
problem is album already dropped (cd and digital) - only hope is they include it with the vinyl, which is delayed til feb because of industry supply chain issues. Unless they announce unique, non-yellow deluxe edition variants in limited quantities that would also include a card, I don’t see these coming to the public.
