Its fun to find untranslated neo names

Found these again in my collection. Havent seen many BGS labels with the untranslated names. What do others think of them?

Wow i think they’re pretty cool and unique. Was leaving names untranslated normal procedure back then or were these graded before the names were translated?

Anytime I see these the first thing I think of is ol’ Kenny G screaming their names into the phone:

Here’s the PSA article I wrote on the topic. PSA 1999 Japanese Neo Labels - "Double White Star"

I have a PSA 10 neo file set myself!

Thanks for the details. I had seen the double white star designation before but hadnt seen the Beckett versions. I know that some early graded japanese cards can also be found with untranslated names but they seem to be rather difficult to find now.

I honestly prefer this way to localised names on graded cards.

Not a fan of graded cards but I’d appreciate an untranslated neo graded card. Represents a time when 2nd gen was new and elusive and is a piece of history.
