Is this PSA 10 charizard a fake? Help me!

Hi, I recently bought a PSA 10 Charizard base set. I have only gotten around 6 graded things by PSA, hence my low experience with them. I know many of you are very experienced with PSA graded cards and that is why I am asking you for help.

What I can notice as a difference between the charizard and my other PSA’s are that there is no hologram, the white “corners” of the lable is rounded of compared to my other ones, which looks like the venusaur one with 4 sharp edges. The venusaur is only for comparison. The font on the “PSA” at the top of the case differs from the font on the venusaur case. The barcode is also slightly smaller then the other ones.

I would be grateful for any help I can get! Thanks

The Charizard card is perfectly fine.

Over the years, PSA has changed the design of their slabs and their labelling. The Venusaur is the latest version.

This looks like one of the older PSA cases to me . . . at a glance it seems legit. However, the front centering on that Charizard looks below the PSA 10 threshold to me. How does the condition of the card seem?

I have even less experience with PSA than you, since I’ve never graded a card myself and only have four PSA graded cards in my possession, but I do know that the PSA labels (as well as some other grading services like Beckett) have changed over time.
Judging by your Charizard’s number it is quite an old one. Unfortunately the PSA search result doesn’t mention the year it has been graded. Maybe the label was just different at that time.

I will see if I can find some pictures of other PSA Pokémon cards with the 10M certificate number range.
In the mean time someone with actual experience with PSA grading that has been in the business for years might give a better answer.

EDIT: Here is a Pikachu with number 05,308,093 with a similar label. So I’d say your Charizard is a legit one. Congrats

Oh, ok. Thanks a lot for the responses everyone! Made a new collector a lot calmer

If you want, you can always send the card to PSA in order to get the case replaced with a new one. Their reholder service starts at $7 USD per card + $18 USD for return shipping.
