Hey everyone,
I recently sold a Japanese 25th Anniversary Collection (S8a) display on eBay and the buyer is now claiming that it’s resealed. They’ve already opened a case, so I’d really appreciate some experienced opinions here.
From my perspective, the claim doesn’t really add up. The box itself is fully intact – especially the closing tabs, which show no signs of being opened or tampered with. If someone actually wanted to manipulate packs, the box would have to be opened, which should leave visible damage.
For context: I bought 4 of these displays back in 2021. I opened some of them myself and everything was legit – I even pulled the gold Mew from one. So I’ve never had any indication that this batch was problematic.
What also confuses me: what would be the point of removing the shrink wrap and resealing it without touching the contents? That doesn’t really make sense from a scam perspective.
The buyer is pointing to so-called “spider web lines” in the wrapping as proof of resealing.
I’ll attach the pictures here – would really appreciate if some of you with more experience in Japanese sealed products could take a look and share your thoughts.
Thanks a lot!
